Prescription Requests

We would like to update you regarding Essex Lodge Surgery’s process for requesting prescriptions. 

Essex Lodge supports the use of online systems. We are promoting the use of the NHS App and are encouraging our patients to request repeat prescriptions via this platform. 

Patients can also submit non-urgent prescription requests directly to us via our NHS Digital-approved online consultation system at: https://florey.accurx.com/p/F84052

We process 1000s of medications each week. To help us meet your expectations please note the following:

Repeat prescription requests 

  • Items that can be ordered on a regular basis
  • Repeat prescriptions will usually be ready in 2 working days
  • This excludes weekends and bank holidays 

Acute / Past repeat prescription requests 

  • Medications which have usually been issued as a one-off, or for a trial period
  • These require longer to process because our clinicians need to review the appropriateness of the requested medication and may take up to 5 working days to be ready
  • Our clinicians contact all patients in order to confirm the requested medication and assess the appropriateness of continuing
