Our reception team are able to give you normal results or results that do not require any further action from the clinical team (certain tests may have values that are just outside the normal range and therefore the clinician may feel that these results do not need any further action).

We do not routinely contact patients if their results are normal.

The clinician that requested your test may contact you if the result is abnormal or they need to discuss the result with you. If they need to discuss the result with you they may ask you to book a non urgent, routine follow up telephone appointment.

A clinician will contact you directly if there is any result that needs URGENT follow up.

Adults’ results will not be given to anyone other than the patient, except in exceptional circumstances.
